Do Does
Do and does are used when we want to ask yes/no questions. We use do when the subject is I, you, we or they. We use does when the subject is he, she or it.
Here are some examples:
- Do I need a ticket?
- Does he like coffee?
- Do we have to queue?
- Do they speak French?
We use don’t when the subject is I, you, we or they and doesn’t when the subject is he, she or it.
Here are some examples:
- I don’t like coffee.
- She doesn’t live in Paris.
- We don’t need a ticket.
- They don’t speak French.
We use do and does when we want to make a statement about something. We use did when we want to talk about something that happened in the past.
Here are some examples:
- Do you like coffee?
- Does he live in Paris?
- I did my homework.
- She didn’t go to the party.
Remember, we use did for all subjects, regardless of whether it is he, she, it, I, you, we or they.
